WWE's Return To Albany, NY Revealed?, GAB Problems, More

For those of you in the Albany, NY area, I have heard that WWE will be coming to the Times Union Center for a WWE SmackDown! and ECW TV taping on Tuesday, November 25th, 2008. I'll keep you posted. TNA runs at the same arena on September 7th.

As noted earlier here on the site, Ultimate Warrior did an autograph appearance in full Warrior attire yesterday at the Marriott Hotel in Uniondale, Long Island yesterday, which was right next to the Nassau Coliseum, the site of The Great American Bash pay-per-view. However, the appearance drew the ire of the WWE legal team, who tried to prevent it from happening. WWE sent Warrior legal letters trying to get him to stop the signing. Basically, WWE felt that Warrior was trying to affiliate himself with them for publicity for the signing by holding it next door. The main qualm seems to be that an unofficial fansite on him, www.warriorcentral.net, advertised him as appearing in full Warrior gear and posing for photos "with his black WWF Championship belt." Of course, WWE doesn't own the rights to the letters "WWF," not to mention that the belt is his personal property from his former tenure with the company, so he's free to do anything he wants with it. Despite the legal threats, the signing went on as planned as Warrior signed for 150 to 200 fans. At the signing, the legal letters WWE sent were posted publicly for all to see.

According to a number of people, there were viewing problems for several people that tried to watch last night's Great American Bash at "WWE Blast Areas" in bars and restaurants in certain parts of the country. There were lots of signal problems as the broadcast blacked out at times. The feed blacked out from both DirecTV and Dish Network, so it wasn't just an isolated problem from one of them.
