WWE SmackDown Results – September 15, 2006

Worcester, Massachusetts
Report By: Richard Trionfo of PWInsider.com

WWE Smackdown! Opener:

Fit Finlay comes to the ring with the Little Bastard under a sheet and they enter the ring. Finlay gets a mic and he has something to say. Finlay reminds us what his name is and that he loves to fight. He says that if you don’t believe him; watch what he did to Batista last week. We see the footage from last week’s Smackdown. Finlay says that was a beating, and don’t expect to see Batista here tonight. He is probably hiding in a little dark hole, licking his wounds. Or he might be in the hospital eating his dinner through a straw. Where he comes from, they would say that he knocked his melt in. In this country you would say that he mugged him. He stole something from Batista. He stole his pride and his manhood. You thought Batista was a superman, but he does not consider him to be a man. Bobby Lashley comes out to the ring and Finlay makes sure that his little friend stays in the ring. Lashley says that Finlay is a bastard. Only someone like Finlay would jump Batista from his back with his shillelagh. That is not an act of bravery, that is an act of cowardice. Lashley says that Finlay’s luck just ran out. Before Lashley can attack Finlay, Teddy Long comes out and he has an announcement to make. Since Lashley and Finlay are talking the talk, they might as well walk the walk. Teddy tells Finlay that he is looking for a new challenger for the World Heavyweight Title. Tonight, Finlay will face Bobby Lashley and the winner will face King Booker at No Mercy for the title. Lashley says that he likes the sound of that and if his little friend gets in the way, he will have no problem beating him down too. Lashley pushes Finlay down and then the Little Bastard takes Finlay down. Lashley leaves the ring and Finlay kicks the Little Bastard and then he rolls him out of the ring and under the ring. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

Fit Finlay is walking in the back and William Regal stops him and wants to know what Finlay is going to do. Regal reminds Finlay that if Lashley wins the match, Lashley will be facing their King. Regal also tells Finlay that if he wins, he will go to No Mercy to face their King. He is the man who means the most to either of them. Finlay walks away.
