OFFICIAL TNA “iMPACT!” RESULTS
Thursday, October 19, 2006 – Orlando, FL
By: Marcus Cygy

Following a heated brawl between Raven, Abyss, and Brother Runt that opened tonight’s broadcast, we saw the emergence of Jake “The Snake” Roberts. He didn’t come alone though – Abyss hit the highroad once witnessed Jake’s signature snake come out of his bag. Roberts later stated that will be the special guest referee for the Monster’s Ball Match this Sunday at “Bound For Glory” in Detroit, Michigan.

Backstage, we then saw Kurt Angle arrive via limousine before a stunned Jeremy Borash. All Kurt had to say was, “Surprised? I said it was real. It’s damn real.”

Speaking of “Bound For Glory” – expect to be star struck once Austin Starr makes his debut!

Up next was Christian Cage was against the man behind the wiggle – Norman Smiley. This match was dubbed by Cage as being the “Orlando Street Fight” – obviously a tune up to his “8 Mile Street Fight” for Sunday’s “Bound For Glory” against Rhino. Quick work was made of Norman Smiley, who was wearing football gear to protect himself, but that didn’t appear to be any safe guard for him when he took the one-man conchairto. Cage won the bout, but gained further pleasure in destroying Smiley’s friend Shark Boy, who came with efforts of saving his friend.

Christian Cage would hightail himself out of the ring once “The War Machine” Rhino appeared. These two former best friends will settle their differences this Sunday at “Bound For Glory”!

In an odd occurrence we saw Eric Young trying to hide himself behind a thick leather jacket and hat. Jeremy Borash who was standing backstage noticed him and called him out by instinct. Eric appeared nervous upon trying to distract JB with various subject changers. It wasn’t appearing to work on Jeremy though, so he said, “I’ll see you Sunday,” and then left. Eric Young will square off with Larry Zbyszko in a “Loser Gets Fired” match at “Bound For Glory”!

A man of all business, Senshi, was beating Jay Lethal all the way to the ring after watching him and Sonjay Dutt mock him backstage by mimicking his voice upon other charismatic antics. In the ring though, Lethal would pay for his actions when he was put out with an under hook suplex.

After the bout, Chris Sabin entered the six-sided ring and unloaded with full offense, but Senshi put the breaks on and delivered the Warrior’s Way. Senshi will be defending his TNA X-Division Championship this Sunday at “Bound For Glory” against the former 2-time X-Division Title holder, Chris Sabin!

We were then brought to an all-important press conference in the minds of Kevin Nash and Alex Shelley. It took place within a local bar in Orlando as local neighbors attended to play a game of pool. During the conference, Kevin Nash released the names of the entrants in the “Kevin Nash Open Invitational X-Division Gauntlet Battle Royal” and they were names such as Monty Hall and Paul Hogan – basically a mockery of names playing off other key names this business has seen. The last member of the Battle Royal announced by Kevin Nash though, was his pal in crime – Alex Shelley. Nonetheless, expect to see some great X-Division action this Sunday at “Bound For Glory”!

Next, “The Professor” Mike Tenay conducted a sit-down interview with BG James of The James Gang. Tenay brought up the recent confrontation that out broke with his partner Kip James. BG’s response really caught us all off guard – he’s standing up to Jeff Jarrett and it’s because he doesn’t just know Jeff Jarrett the wrestler, but he knows the “man”. BG also told Tenay, that Jeff Jarrett has a lot of pressure on his shoulders and there’s a reason why he does everything he does, but if you really want to know who he is, then get to know the “man” – NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett.

America’s Most Wanted and The Latin American Exchange were forced to team in an eight-man tag team match in the main event this evening against NWA World Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels and The James Gang. Once the bell rang, it was anyone’s game when all the competitors were broken loose all over the arena.

Once everyone got back in the ring, AJ Styles made quick work of taking care of LAX’s Hernandez with an inverted DDT and then an amazing pelè kick on Homicide. Moments later, Styles would quickly pick up the win for his team when he rolled Chris Harris up after launching him into Homicide on the ring apron with a drop kick.

After the bout, Konnan ordered his LAX thugs to destroy America’s Most Wanted with their slapjacks. However, Gail Kim decided to get involved and in return suffered a severe neck injury when Hernandez launched her up for the Cracker Jack. As a result, Gail will miss the “Bound For Glory” fanfest and Pay-Per-View while she recuperates at home.

Announced shortly after the injury was a Four Corners Tag Team Match for this Sunday at “Bound For Glory”. The bout will see The Naturals vs. The James Gang vs. America’s Most Wanted vs. Team 3D in Detroit, Michigan!

On eve of “Bound For Glory”, it was decision time for “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe on whether he would either return the NWA World Heavyweight Title to the rightful owner in Jeff Jarrett or therefore accept his immediate release from the TNA roster. Well, the undefeated Samoa Joe entered the ring and made his answer quickly by ripping up the statements handed to him by referee Earl Hebner. From there we saw the live TNA debut of Olympic gold medalist – Kurt Angle! The electrifying response from the fans was unlike any crowd response we have seen in professional wrestling, and not once did the fans quiet down. The confrontation between Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe, which saw them come face-to-face, had Kurt head-butt Joe square in the face. An Olympic Slam was then landed in place on the now bloodied Samoa Joe, who for the first time realized he was matched up with an equalizer in Kurt Angle. Referees and security fled to the scene and gave every inch of effort to break the two apart as Jeff Jarrett too fled and retreated when he finally had a firm grasp on his NWA World Heavyweight Title.

Following the broadcast, we learned that “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe would be waiting for Kurt Angle at the door this Sunday in Detroit, Michigan at “Bound For Glory”!

It will be “Title vs. Career” this Sunday when NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett goes one-on-one with Sting as Kurt Angle will serve as the special enforcer this Sunday at “Bound For Glory” at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT live on Pay-Per-View brought to you by Mortal Kombat: Armageddon!

Chris Jericho and Fozzy were proud to close Total Nonstop Action Wrestling “iMPACT!” off this week with their hit single – Enemy – featured in a music video!

Also don’t forget that TNA “iMPACT!” debuts on primetime with two-hours on Thursday, November 16 at 9 PM ET on Spike TV!

Quick Match Results:
• TNA X-Division Champion, Senshi defeated Jay Lethal, in a Non-Title Match.
• Orlando Street Fight: Christian Cage defeated Norman Smiley.
• NWA World Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels, & The James Gang (BG James & Kip James) defeated America’s Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm), & The Latin American Exchange (Homicide & Hernandez).
